Remove all hair trapped in your brush on a weekly basis; this can be done by using a thin comb and a pair of scissors. Then, create a cleaning solution (1x shampoo + 1x water) and spray it on your brush once a month. After spraying the cleaning solution, remove excess buildup with a clean, damp cloth. Then rinse with water to remove the solution and press using a cushion to release water. Finally, leave the brush bristle-side down for 24 hours to dry.
First, wait until the flat iron has cooled completely. Then, soak cotton balls with rubbing alcohol and use them to wipe down the iron. Q-tips can be used to clean out corners and small areas. Lastly, soak a clean cloth with water and wipe down the flat iron again.
